Izaya has been listening. He's been watching the general fall-out and keeping an eye on the blanks and listening in on relevant conversations--see here if you are new to that whole thing--and possible heckling his teammates and Uraeus. As he does.

SO ANYWAY.
Work schedule is being shifted to my working 4PM to 12AM PST Wed-Sun starting on the 29th.
... in other words, I will be returning to Honorary Moon-timer status. Which also means that if my workplace still has the internet cut off at 5PM... I won't be able to play in most Friday-Saturday games. Bawww.
But this next week is random in terms of schedule. I will be working my moon-timer schedule Mon-Wed this week, but then Sat-Sun I have my usual day shift... and then I can't remember what's the schedule like for next week.
JUST AS A HEAD'S UP. WE WILL MAKE THREADING WORK SOMEHOW but otherwise I will be scarce (I love how I end up posting more when I say that). This applies for Kaito, Dean, and Izaya.

Day 188 - Memory 1
Nov. 5th, 2010 06:30 am→ Shinra patching him up/taunting Shizu-chan (pc) [around 14:08-14:24, for reference]
What he remembers:
- being a bit tired out and sore from some activity.
- Harm patching him up, since that's apparently what he does.
- there being a terrible sound from outside--oh, someone just ripped Harm's door off its hinges.
- "Oh, what a coincidence! Izaya's here too!" --so that's his name :'D
- it's some bleached-blonde guy who has a long scratch on his chest and looks like he got hit by a bus.
- ... lololol woooooooooow, he seriously wanted this guy to be seriously injured.
- "Hey, why aren't you hurt?" --apparently was expecting the lack of injuries. Possibly was the one who attempted to have him injured? lol
- LOLOLOL blond guy wanted to kill him with a door! What a monster.
- chick in black form-fitting suit and yellow helmet tries to pacify the monster.
- generally being a dick to blond guy while casually sitting in Harm's place, getting fixed up for minor injuries/scrapes.
What this means:
... lololol, oooooooh Uraeus~ One of yours was someone I knew~ This will be fun~
Though he is a bit annoyed that he had to remember someone like that blond guy. Seriously, why couldn't he have just gotten hit by a bus? That had to have worked to at least majorly injured him, right?

So if you all remember, this is the week I work 8 days in a row. It is currently day 2/8. Lol.
So. I may be scarce during this time.
After this week, things will go back to normal for about a week. And then the week of the 15th, I am working 4PM to 12AM for three days. And the week after that, my schedule will change because things are Happening at work.

In canon, Izaya goes on often about how much he loves humans, humans should love him, and oh my oh my their reactions are so wonderful and beautiful and pitiful and painful and he caused it.
So how will this translate into Sabra, where there are obviously many non-human blanks wandering around?

Orihara is not too uncommon a surname - Narita probably wished to stress his ordinary origins here. The kanji for Izaya's given name, a very rare combination if ever used at all, would usually be pronounced Rinya and definitely not Izaya. And it seems that 臨, when used singly in a male name (a rare instance as well), is usually pronounced Nozomu.
The only reason his name is pronounced Izaya was that his parents wanted it to sound the same as the biblical prophet Isaiah (phonetically Izaya in Japanese). When Narita first introduced Izaya he mentioned another origin of his name - 臨 is also a reference to the phrase 臨む者, which could mean -the one who rules- but also multiple other things depending on the context, e.g. in the following biblical quote:
